Treatment – Ankle Sprain
The easiest way to treat an ankle sprain is by using the R.I.C.E. method for 3-6 days.
- Rest:Restrain from physical activites that might cause swelling, pain, or discomfort.
- Ice:Apply an ice pack while your awake and repeat this step every two to three hours.
- Compression To reduce the swelling, compress the ankle with a tight fitting elastic wrap. Dont wrap so tight that ir cuts off circulation.
- Elevation:Elevate your ankle above the level of your heart throughout the day. Gravity will help reduce the swelling when your foot is elevated.
